Job Description

• Leading the Kitchen: Manage and mentor a team of 2-3 kitchen support staff. • Cooking Classic Fare: Preparing "crowd-pleaser" meals. Think hearty scrambled eggs and bacon for breakfast, golden grilled cheese and soup for lunch, and big batches of chili or tacos for supper. • Kitchen Management: Overseeing food prep, maintaining high sanitation standards, and keeping the pantry organized. • Creating Community: Ensuring every camper and counsellor walks away from the dining hall full and happy. ________________________________________

Qualifications

• An Experienced Leader: You’ve worked in a kitchen environment and feel comfortable directing others. Reports to and collaborates with Camping Director • A "Comfort Food" Pro: You don't need fancy foams or tweezers—you’re a master of the basics and know how to cook for a crowd. • Reliable & Positive: You show up on time with a "can-do" attitude that keeps the kitchen morale high. Commitment to Camp Kidston's mission and values. • Safety Conscious: Knowledge of food safety and hygiene (Food Handler’s Certification required.) Work with Director of Health & Safety to accommodate camper allergies and food sensitivities. Able to obtain Criminal record check and a vulnerable sector search. • Your values align with Kidston’s: welcoming, inclusive, kind.
