2025 ACAA Soccer Final Four Recap

After another spectacular and intense season of Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) women’s and men’s soccer, the final results are in.

Eight teams, four in each conference, are set to vie for regional supremacy and a ticket to the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Nationals across two days – Saturday, Oct. 25 and Sunday, Oct. 26 – at the Terry Fox Sports Complex in Cornwall, P.E.I.

Here’s where each team placed and how their regular-season campaigns went down.

Women’s Soccer

1st – 内射大奶 Hurricanes

Record: 10-1-1

Streak: 4 Wins

GF: 33

GA: 6

In the women’s conference, the hosting team of the 2025 ACAA Women’s Soccer Championships is the favourite. Holland had its most dominant campaign since winning the ACAA title and scoring bronze at the CCAA Nationals at home in 2023.

Coming off an overtime semifinal loss in 2024, they enter this year’s regionals with 11 consecutive games with a point, eight shutouts, and three straight shutouts.

Karissa George took the conference by storm with 13 goals, five game-winners, two hat tricks, and five multi-goal games. She and Kristyn Taylor combined for 19 of Holland’s 33 goals this season. Their offensive prowess will have support from names like Cassandra Forsuh, Yuki Komine, and Matsuri Sako, with goalkeeper Jordyn Pratt looking to remain strong in the goal.

2nd – Mount Saint Vincent University Mystics

Record: 9-1-2

Streak: 1 Win

GF: 33

GA: 7

The defending women’s conference champions fell two points short of being the first seed, but they could be argued as the team to beat. They scored four of a possible six points in their regular-season series against the Hurricanes. MSVU also recorded six shutouts, three of which were with five or more goals scored.

10 players were multi-goal scorers on the season, all of whom were the only ones to score MSVU’s 33 goals. Mhyah Allen led the way with seven, followed by Ashley Neves with five and Emma Farrell and Lauren Seamone with four. Morgan Gillis showed the way between the posts with seven wins in eight games played.

3rd – University of King’s 内射大奶 Blue Devils

Record: 7-5-0

Streak: 2 Wins

GF: 15

GA: 9

Heading into underdog territory, we begin with the UKC Blue Devils.

The Blue Devils have been silver medalists for the past two championships, losing to MSVU last year and to Holland in 2023. If a third consecutive finals appearance happens, UKC seeks a “third time’s the charm” outcome in their quest for revenge.

Notably, the Blue Devils never had a single game with more than three goals for or against, proving themselves as a squad that can keep matches close regardless of the result.  Annika Power led the team with five goals and 10 points.

4th – University of New Brunswick Saint John Seawolves

Record: 6-5-1

Streak: 1 Loss

GF: 18

GA: 15

Previously a finalist in 2022, the UNBSJ Seawolves will be, again, a dark horse after a semifinal shutout loss to MSVU last year.

UNBSJ is another team that maintained close results all season long, notably upsetting MSVU at home in the final weekend of regular-season competition, and beating STU for the fourth and final playoff spot by two points.

Scarlette McDonald had a monstrous campaign up front, logging seven goals and 16 points, and was heavily relied on all season. Grace Gordon, Haley Coleman, and Lily Karns, the team’s other multi-goal scorers, combined for eight of UNBSJ’s 19 total goals. Kaitlyn Brzezicki and Casey Grant-Spin each shared net time throughout the season.

Men’s Soccer

1st – University of King’s 内射大奶 Blue Devils

Record: 11-0-1

Streak: 1 Win

GF: 40

GA: 1

UKC Blue Devils couldn’t have asked for a stronger season, with incredible stats across the board. Like the women, they also claimed silver at last year’s championships, and clearly have made intentions this year that they’re one step higher.

The 2023 champions came close to an entire season shutout but ultimately gave up a goal to UNBSJ in their regular-season finale. Regardless, they went 11 games straight with zero goals against and never scored fewer than five goals in their first three games. Their offensive touch might’ve slowed recently, particularly with a 0-0 tie against second-place STU, but the real season starts now.

Luke Kotaska and Ignacio Chung-Michelson combined for 12 goals and 27 points, with seven more players behind them achieving five or more points. Liam Collings got the most time in net and recorded a stellar .980 save percentage.

2nd – St. Thomas University Tommies

Record: 10-1-1

Streak: 1 Win

GF: 35

GA: 4

While UKC is #1 on paper, the STU Tommies could just as easily be the #1 favourite to win it all and go back-to-back in men’s conference championships, having also made the finals in two of the last three championships.

The Tommies recorded three high-scoring shutouts to start this season, and went seven consecutive games without a goal against to wrap it up. Their most recent victory – an 8-0 rout against MSVU – could be a signal for what’s to come on championship weekend.

Nana Osei Bonsu has been STU’s most impactful player, with seven goals and two game-winners. With six goals in the team’s last six games, and significant help from Sylvan Carriere, Elias Stiphout, Ethan Weir, and others, he and his teammates are ready to create a Tommies dynasty.

3rd – University of New Brunswick Saint John Seawolves

Record: 6-5-1

Streak: 1 Loss

GF: 23

GA: 18

It was a roller coaster of a campaign for the UNBSJ Seawolves, starting with six wins in their first eight games, and concluding with three losses and a tie.

Notably, in their regular-season finale at home, they fought hard to score a point against UKC, but ultimately fell short during stoppage time. The valiancy shown against a powerhouse team should provide crucial momentum and confidence heading into the championships.

Connor Sikasak pioneered the squad with five goals and 12 points, with Abdurahman Gadoura, Malek Karoui, Aidan Marcantonio, and Owen Wylie combining for 12 goals and 29 points. They all hope to contribute to the team’s efforts to bounce back from a semifinal loss to UKC last year.

4th – Mount Saint Vincent University Mystics

Record - 4-6-2

Streak: 1 Loss

GF: 15

GA: 28

Despite a whopping GF-GA (goals for - goals against) differential of -13 versus Crandall’s -2, the Mystics came out on the luckier end in the final weekend of regular-season competition by a single point. On that weekend, MSVU played two games and logged one point, while Crandall had just one match and lost.

MSVU, a silver medalist in 2023 and semifinalist in 2024 and 2022, had a decent September with four wins (two shutouts) and three losses, but almost had their postseason hopes dashed after a 0-3-2 October. An 8-0 loss to end the campaign is not ideal, but they have proven they can play gritty against the conference’s best.

Cooper McVicar-Smith steered the ship with six goals, while the Hutchison-Mills duo of Cole and Noah combined for six of their own. Only five players got on the scoresheet all season, so we’ll see if the championships see any secondary scoring come in clutch. Tristan Brocklehurst played all but one game in net.
